Today is the Diamond Jubilee and tomorrow I’m off to Germany, so…

If I were Queen for a day, I would pass some quick laws! I would make Monday Ladies’ Day. Women would get priority for seating, queues and right of way on the road! I would load Monday with special treats like smiling traffic wardens; loving partners, boyfriends, husbands and free customised Donna Ida jeans for lady motorbikers. Monday would eventually end up being so much better then Friday that the whole week would take on a new and completely exciting perspective!

What would you do if you were Queen for a day?

London’s ‘Queen of Jeans’, Donna Ida has launched a campaign called ‘Queen for a Day‘ to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, which sees fashion insiders talking about what they would do if they had the crown for a day. I was kindly invited to take part and here’s what I would do:

If I were Queen for a day, I would pass some quick laws! I would make Monday Ladies’ Day. Women would get priority for seating, queues and right of way on the road! Proudly British with Cut Flowers! Floral display at Brora’s flagship store for Chelsea in Bloom

Sarah and I share not only the same street, but also a passion for flowers, although I adore the scent and she the colours. Her shop, Cut Flowers, is in every theatre cognoscenti’s address book, with first nights being a specialty! When she told me that she’d been asked to do the windows for Brora’s Chelsea shop, I couldn’t wait to see the result! Chelsea in Bloom, in conjunction with the Chelsea Flower Show, really marks the start to the London season, and the only event worth going to for any green figured persons’ calendar!

Choosing only British flowers and delicately following a gentle Union Jack colour theme, Sarah created a beautiful display around a black and white portrait of the young Queen Elizabeth (kind permission of the Victoria & Albert museum). If you’re in and around Sloane Square this week, it’s really worth a peek in the window, and the cashmeres of course!

I am just lucky to have my own ever-changing floral displays as I walk past Sarah’s shop every day whilst in beautiful London.
