I am just a GARBO girl

Greta Bayo, inspired by the Aurora Borealis, has her latest collection on display at her new boutique and atelier in Marbella. She plays with a dark sky filled with the magical fireworks of stars in her textiles and adds a futuristic air through her use of volume and form.

I love the boutique. It’s always fun, with lots of girls trying on pieces not only from Greta’s collection, but a selection of additional designers and labels chosen by both sisters, making it a HOT STOP!

But today, with a special Christmas and Mothers Day buying event, it was even better and I managed to convince friend/blogger Olguita to hang out and help me pick a dress for The British Ball next week. I have to say, I managed to try on all her long ball gowns, sneaking in a couple of pyjama suits from her new collection when bored of playing the girly girl.

About two hours later, with the excuse of not being able to leave due to HUGE tropical thunderstorm, the choice was made. But, I AM AFRAID YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE EVENT ITSELF TO SEE THAT CHOICE…

A sparkly shorts combo with a peplum!

Aber, IHR MÜSST LEIDER BIS ZUM EVENT ABWARTEN, FÜR WAS ICH MICH ENTSCHIEDEN HABE…

Greta Bayo’s show sparkled on Antony Gormley-esque figures

I love, love, love the sparkle, brocade and total femininity from one of Panama’s most thought-of designers who showed her collection this week.
I have worn her sequinned trouser suit on all my travels religiously, either with a T-shirt at breakfast…or silk at night. It just soooo works, although I must say it doesn’t pack too small in the pannier!

An improvised trip to Europe – Mr. P & The Beast drive me to the airport in STYLE

An unexpected call got me packing up and organising a fast track trip to Europe.
With a KLM afternoon departure, it means you hit 5:00pm peek commute time in Panama, so getting to the airport only makes sense on the bike!

Packing up with the knowledge that you have all your favourite wardrobe pieces awaiting you London-side is easy! Armed with just a couple of glittery pieces from Greta Bayo, Espacio Vintage and Ana Francesca, I am done!

Getting to Tocumen International airport with a mini case strapped on the back of The Beast is a breeze, although a little sad when I see Mr. P, The Beast and my helmet drive away into the sunset.

3 weeks, 2 e-mails, and 1 recce trip on bike, BUT I FINALLY FIND GARBO BY GRETA in PANAMA

…and SO, SO worth it!
Now, anyone that knows me, will realise that when it comes to shopping, I persist! -especially when I have seen a piece (above) that I want, and even more so when I have been consistently bitten by each and every mosquito currently inhabiting Casco Viejo. What else is a girl left to do except cover up totally, and as glamourously as possible? Greta Bayo’s collection caught my eye on Day 2 in Panama at The Retro Glam event in Casco, and her current collection inspired by Edie Sedgwick carries the same vibe, effortless glamour with a touch of vulnerability plus loads of femininity.
She keeps a couture workshop for her collections, and with her sister, the boutique: Garbo by Greta, which is where we finally caught up. NOW I just need to see if those pesky mites get through my paillettes!
