About eighteen independent temporary stores take part in a municipal initiative to rejuvenate the oldest street in the historical centre of Cozenza: Corzo Telesio.
All of the spaces have been designed with amazing Corvasce recycled furniture. The stores change over every two months and I understand more will be added, which really makes another trip imperative!
Below are a couple of my favourites – artist, designers…
Patrizia Pikierri seems far too young to having finished a career in sculpting, fashion styling and then working in spacial design for the VENICE BIENALE, but I guess this eclectic mix of mediums shows in her work, which is just far too keenly priced to be around too long!
She has penchant for drawing and fashion, and lives in Milan, which to me screams, “FASHION WEEK and Amelia’s Magazine“…I guess we need to wait and see. In the meantime feast your eyes!
Andrea Teofilatto and Alessandra Piancetini are the team behind the ‘Miss Bikini’ brand. A success that commenced in the 80′s, their collection now includes more than 70 different styles and all of the embellishments are artisanal. They are recognised in Italy for their prints and darling little beach dresses…and I’m sure you can guess who couldn’t resist one!
Graphid3a call themselves ‘Tecno Artisans’, which is the perfect description for this group of dream carvers. Utilising CAD 3D, they make a rapid prototype utilising a seemingly infinite range of materials. I kind of fell for Mr. Blue Octopus, made with eco plastic! They unwittingly told me about a competition – to make the most original idea that was sent in…Mr. P and I are now both competing for 1st prize.
Then of course there was Lanificio Leo but that’s got to be all on it’s own. Stay tuned!
