My 100-piece glasses collection is safely based in London, but I do carry a minimum of 3 on the road! Invariably, L.A. Eyeworks and Kirk Originals are always included. I see them as face accessories – totally imperative for covering up a weary face and crack of dawn eyes!

It’s always exciting to discover somebody with the same passion, and that could lead to finding a new designer. Nuccia’s shop in Salerno is pretty special and it houses part of a collection that her parents started in Bari after the war.

So, having Nuccia pull out Vintage Persol, Mani, IC Berlin and Eyeworks for me to try on was pretty cool, as was trying my first pair of Italian Independent sunglasses. I love the velvet effect (similar to those Kitch nodding dogs), which is made from their own patent UV LUX© treatment, whose attributes include being scratch-proof and colourfast even after long exposures to the sun. Best of all though is their clever colour combos, of which the GREY and BLACK is far too cool to leave behind. Oops!

First there were 3 pairs of sunglasses in the overflowing pannier and NOW there are 4!

Meine 100-Brillen Kollektion liegt in sicherheit zurück in London, aber ich nahm mindestens drei mit mir auf meiner Reise! Ausnahmslos sind L.A.Eyeworks und Kirk Originals dabei. Ich sehe sie als Gesichtsaccessoires – notwendig um ein ermüdetes Gesicht und Morgengrauenaugen zu verstecken!

Es ist immer aufregend Jemand mit einer gemeinsamen Leidenschaft zu finden; und es kann zu einem neuen Designer führen. Der Laden von Nuccia, in Salerno, ist schon etwas besonderes und bringt ein Teil der Kollektion von ihren Eltern unter, den sie nach dem Krieg, in Bari, angefangen haben.

Nuccia liess mich Vintage Persol, Mani, IC Berlin und Eyeworks anprobieren, was ziemlich cool war, genauso cool wie mein erstes paar Italian Independent Sonnenbrillen anzuprobieren. Ich liebe das Samtgefühl (ähnlich wie kitschige Wackeldackel), was von ihrer eigenen, patentierte UV LUX© treatment hergestellt wird, dessen Eigenschaften Kratzfestigkeit und Farbbeständigkeit enthalten – selbst nach langen Sonnenbädern. Das Beste aber, ist die geschickte Farbenzusammenstellung – GRAU und SCHWARZ ist viel zu cool um es zurückzulassen. Oje!
