Libero’s floral display gets a 10 out of 10

Libero from floresteria LA TOSCA in Arafo display for LA ROMERIA ARAFO

Yep, just like Fashion Week, it took a team of only 2 people through from 11:00pm until 8.00am the next day to transform the church of San Juan Degollado in Arafo for the Romeria, and how spectacular!! Maybe a little avant-garde for village taste, but it certainly got me into church!! More please…

Granny Alert! A testament to life in the fun lane

Fierce with a couple of more pounds a few years ago

At eighty, slimmer and STILL ATTRACTING THE BOYS!

This fantastic lady is proof that life is all about how fun YOU make it!!!  She is still working at Boucherie Harcaut in Bayonne where her grandson is now in charge. Although she stopped skateboarding a couple of years ago, she still makes a mean pâté, as Mr. P found out.

LAKRA – my must-stop boutique in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Lakra Boutique - Calle Suarez Guerra N23 Santa Cruz de Tenerfe

Anna Montico is Italian and has been in Tenerife for about 31 years so I  think she pretty much is an adopted Canarian. She designs for her own shop LAKRA which is run by her lovely Tenerifian daughter-in-law who gobbles up all the styling books she can lay her hands on – a true FASHIONISTA.  I love Anna’s designs for LAKRA. They are easy to just slip into after a day riding on the motorbike, and they crumble up to nothing for storage which means I only need to slide into my heels – a perfect non-crease dress for  travelling and almost looking like me!  Every time I am in Tenerife I pop into the shop to try on  all her new designs and invariably I always come away with a little something or two!

Mr P opens the fridge and discovers guindillas from Rioja!

Fresh guindillas and black beans in Tolosa market

Lupe transformed into Miss Mouse whilst Basque-ing in Tolosa

We were so lucky to see the fresh variety at one of the three markets that takes place every Saturday in Tolosa.

Stall holders are also the producers, growing with great care and affection, the Tolosa black bean and the guindillas.

Mr P has been raving about Rioja to all and sundry, but THE GUINDILLA has to be the TOLOSA one for him!

Personally guindillas don’t do it for me but the award-winning Idiazabal Basque cheese does its just. Yum!
